Screening wasn't in the specs
The building is almost ready for occupancy when someone realizes the city requires rooftop screening. Now it is a last-minute conversation instead of something designed into the project from the start.
Generic products adapted in the field
Off-the-shelf screening systems are forced to fit the rooftop layout, creating unnecessary breaks, alignment issues, and a finish that does not match the building.
Systems that don't hold up over time
It is common to see rooftop screens with doors missing, panels out of alignment, or systems starting to fall apart. What was meant to improve the building's appearance quickly becomes something that looks neglected.
Secure your screening solution upfront. CME's goal is to be there from start to finish so you have no headaches and no problems.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ideally, screening is coordinated during design development or early in the submittal process so it can be detailed alongside the HVAC equipment layout. However, CME is frequently brought in late and can still help you avoid delays by moving quickly once the rooftop layout is confirmed.
Yes. Most projects involve a local mechanical contractor and an architect of record. CME coordinates with both teams to review the rooftop layout, screening requirements, and color selections so the final system fits the building and complies with local expectations.
Lead times depend on project size and finish selections, but our standard screens usually take 8-12 weeks, while our louvered systems take about 12-14 weeks. There are occasions when we can meet shorter timelines if necessary; during your discovery call, CME can provide a project-specific lead time range.
